Logic and purpose of the questionnaire

The Compliance Questionnaire is used to declare external emissions and make their calculation understandable and auditable.

What are external emissions?

External emissions are emissions that are NOT calculated via gryn, but are already included in the upload. This occurs when a supplier has already calculated the transport emissions themselves and uploads the shipment data including the emissions to gryn.

Why do external emissions have to be declared?

When uploading external emissions, it is not clear to gryn how the emissions have been calculated. They may have been calculated using a professionally recognized tool or a simple excel calculation.

To ensure that this calculation meets regulatory requirements, information on the methodology, tool used, etc. is therefore essential.

How the questionnaire works

A table with all modes of transport (MoT) can be viewed under the “Compliance” tab in your own profile and settings. This shows whether external emissions are available for the respective MoT and whether these have been declared via a questionnaire.

Please note: the table only shows external emissions for the supplier of the shipments. Even if the shipper uploads the supplier's data himself, the supplier must still answer the questionnaire in his account. The reason for this is the separation between the uploading party and the calculating party. These may or may not be the same.
